Katy Perry Goes Gold in Germany

Riding the wave of success, Katy Perry was on the red carpet for her golden record (150,000 singles sold) of “I Kissed a Girl” in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday (September 17).

Smilingly posing with her plaque, Katy hammed it up for photographers in a cleavage-baring red striped blouse paired with a ruffled polka dot skirt, sheer polka-dot nylons and cherry red patent Mary Jane heels.

Along with receiving her certified gold record, Miss Perry also took the stage for a promo-gig - putting on a brief show for her German fans.

Surprisingly enough, the successful moment in Berlin may never have been - as Katy’s boyfriend revealed that she almost didn’t release the hit track.

Because its homosexual content went against her parents religious beliefs, Katy was about to pull the plug - until Travis McCoy stepped in and changed her mind.

McCoy told press, “As soon as Katy played I Kissed A Girl I said, ‘Baby, this is a smash’. I totally knew from the word go, but she wasn’t sure. She was like, ‘Do you really think so?’ I proved it to her.”
